Reading With Hope

Help me give my students the ability to focus with the use of tools to help those who cannot read by using the c-pen reader. This will build their ability to confidently complete their work.

My Students

My students are disadvantaged and have been involved in having their elementary school be a turnaround school. Several in my class are unable to read. My goal is to encourage them to try their best and not give up. By showing grit and by making mistakes they will learn and grow. My goal is to encourage them to not give up and be reminded that they may feel discouraged at time but the power of yet will increase their growth mindset and help them learn and shine through the darkness they may feel about learning.

My Project

In my class, my students may sit there waiting for me to come read them what was given on the assignment, completely helpless. These fourth graders will truly benefit from independence a c-reader pen could give them. The ability to change the way they learn, and grow their confidence in themselves.

The flexible seating for my classroom will help those who have a hard time focusing in class.

They have not been able to focus on their work and need to move around and feel the freedom to not be stuck to a desk. Studies show that flexible seating will benefit students focus and interest in the lessons. I am so privileged to be a teacher and appreciate any help I can get!

I love these children and want to make the classroom a place where they feel safe and loved. Working at a title one school I have done my best to provide for the children despite my economic hardships and have spent over $1,000 so far to make it so my class has all they need to succeed.
