Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine not having any books at home to be able to read and complete homework reading log? Unfortunately most of my students do not have books in their home environment, so by donating to this project they will be able to share books with their families.

I have a great group of first graders willing to sponge up any information presented to them.

The school they attend is in a Title I school district. They live in a high poverty level community with very limited resources; and, most of them qualify for the free lunch program. However, this doesn't restrict them from their excitement to come to school ready to give it their all. They are so willing to please their teacher(s).

My Project

These books and/or resources will afford me with the ability to provide Dr. Seuss' books to each of my students. Annually, we celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday and have lessons and activities to go along with the theme. At the end of the activities, all of the children will receive books and take them home to share with their families. My students are emergent reader and the goal is to increase fluency and comprehension skills to better prepare them for their future educational requirements.

By donating to my project, you will open doors for my students that right now have very limited resources in them.

You will be a contributor to their future educational successes. And, your generosity will put hands-on reading materials that they otherwise would not have in their home environment. Thank you in advance for helping fund this project and giving my first graders what every child deserves to have.
