My Students
Books are a powerful tool for first graders, and some of my students do not have books at home. My students are from a low socioeconomic background, and they need books to have for their home libraries.
Reading is a vital part of a child's life.
Books are a tool that can be used over and over again.
We are a Title I school located in Georgia. I realize that most of our students don't have books at home. My students enjoy reading Clifford's books because they are funny and entertaining. They like to respond to books orally and with written expression. We encourage our students to read with their parents and family members. The books that you will provided will motivate my students to read more to reach their reading goals.
My Project
The books will promote lifelong readers and family involvement. The ownership of books and books in the home will be a good indicator of future success in school. The donations from this project will increase family reading time, reading as a hobby, the love of books and student achievement. The students will become independent readers which will improve their standardized test scores. As a teacher, "I believe it takes a village to raise a child." My goal is to ensure every child in my class to have a home library and learn the joy of reading. The students will continue to respond to books and work toward their reading goals with this project. The students will learn the importance of reading and cherish their gift of reading.
New books will touch the lives of so many students in different ways.
The students will read more with the availability of books at home. This project will provide books for students to start their home library. Books will be a tool that the students will be able to use over and over again. The parents will read to or listen to their children read. This project will increase reading levels and build lifelong readers.
