This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is one of the largest Title I public schools in New York City located in Elmhurst, Queens. Our families are deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, my remote Kindergarten class is comprised of both general and special education students. It's been such a challenge for my students to learn at home with limited resources and school supplies they currently have.

I hope to help my Kindergarten students build the passion for reading by providing them with new read alouds and engaging books.

The time that I have with my Kindergarten students is very precious since it is where most of their learning takes place!

My Project

This year in Kindergarten, one of the most challenging things we face during remote learning is not being able to enjoy a good read aloud book face-to-face.

With your support, you will be helping us build the passion of reading and learning many key themes such as friendship, kindness, social justice, and social emotional learning at home!

It is my ultimate goal to continue to keep remote learning fun and engaging by reading a good book each day! Help me build my Kindergartener's passion of reading by allowing me to read them these awesome titles such as "Strictly No Elephants", "Grumpy Monkey", "Superheroes Are Everywhere", "The Monster Color", and many more!

Thanks so much for your kindness in helping me spread the love of learning for our littlest readers! I hope to fill their hearts with joy by introducing these new read aloud books!
