Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Due to COVID-19, we are now navigating a world where learning takes place in blended classroom settings. Therefore, virtual and in-person teaching experiences are what shapes my students ability to create, process, and apply information. Even though virtual classrooms have become an essential part of learning, in-person interactions are vital to development, especially social and communication skills.
My students are primarily from low social economic backgrounds.
They are a dynamic group who strive to achieve positive outcomes regardless of the challenges they face. They are eager to learn. I take pride in my job as a teacher and my role in supporting my students greatest academic achievements.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used for our classroom library. I have selected popular children's books that have become worn from use overtime in my classroom. It is time to get new books so that the students will continuously have access to them. The students enjoy listening to stories and they will often chant "again" to have me read them again. Reading is good for the soul! I will often see my students mood change after a book read. They will smile and engage in conversations. I see their imaginations expand as they dream of new ideas.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
