Reading to Learn: Non-Fiction for Fourth Grade

My students need these nonfiction books so that they may transition from the "learning to read" stage to "reading to learn!"

My Students

The students in my classroom are excited to be at school. They come in each day ready to work hard and learn all they can. My students truly become "my kids" because our classroom philosophy is that a relationship must be built before learning can take place.

I teach in a small school district where the majority of students receive free breakfast and lunch services.

Even though these students come from middle to low-income families, they are eager to come to school and learn about the world around them.

My Project

These books are an excellent way for young readers to learn about different people, events, and places in history. These books are engaging and keeps their readers coming back for more.

Beginning in the fourth-grade, students transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." What better way to begin reading to learn than by having kid-friendly nonfiction books readily available?

This series will introduce my students the world of nonfiction books.

My students like to read and I want to foster a deeper love for reading in my classroom. These books will help my students become avid readers and lifelong learners.
