This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students I teach in English class are Medical Science Academy students, who plan to pursue careers in health. Being able to give them new books to explore mental health issues and how it impacts individuals will give them more material to discuss and research as they prepare for internships in the community. These books will give them new topics to research and ideas to discuss as a class. My students are part of a diverse school with many immigrant students. These students come with trauma from making it to a new country and want to work in the medical field to help make things better for those immigrating here and those they left behind.

Please donate to help bring new texts to these students and prepare them for the mental health needs of our society.
