Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to inspire my students to be lifelong readers! As a newer teacher, I am still in the process of building my classroom library. I like to ensure the library is filled with books that interest my students. I am looking for ways to engage them in reading by having a variety of books to choose from for their independent reading time.

My students are currently into graphic novels, and I only have one in the classroom library.

I plan to purchase a variety of graphic novels in hopes that this will provide my students with more reading options. I'm also hoping to increase engagement in the classroom and spark a greater interest in reading.

This project will help create a classroom library that encourages students to explore different books. My students will enjoy their independent reading time. This project will also provide students with the opportunity to explore other genres and foster a lifelong love of reading.
