My students are kindergarten and first graders with a love of reading.
They enjoy curling up with a pillow and a good book with their friends. Our school is a small charter located in Central Florida. We serve students K-8. 90% of our student population live at or below the poverty level.
My Project
Do you remember the first time you used a computer? What about the first time you had a chance to use an e reader? All children seem to gravitate towards the newest and greatest technology. With a new class set of tablets, I would be able to use this new technology to teach my kindergarten and first graders during small and center time. They would be able to download apps and programs to help them with phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. Tablets would also assist with pinpointing those students who need additional assistance. The sky is the limit! The possibilities for learning are endless!
By giving to this project, you will be able to give my fantastic students access to technology they may never be able to access outside of school.
The best part is this project will be used from year to year so the impact of the tablets will benefit many students in the years to come!
