My Students
What a privilege it is to work with students who have a desire to learn. This great desire makes itself manifest in the varied interest and the motivation of my students. They relish the opportunity to be successful, but they blossom when encouraged. The proper resources are needed to help me ensure they are successfully challenged to meet their full potential.

It does not matter that they come from a low socio-economic background. It does not matter whether or not they are carrying the added weight of family difficulties. They are ready for the activities that are involved with our learning, and I want them to enjoy the creative process.
My Project
The materials for this project will help to build the reading environment needed to improve their lexile levels. The books and reading skill kits selected will enhance the accessibility of quality reading materials. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. The skill kits will enable the students to further benefit from working one-on-one with the teacher or independently to grasp the concepts of reading skills. As a result of this there is no doubt our reading lexile scores will drastically improve.
With these new books and skill kits, my students will be able to choose from a variety of materials that will allow them to read and work independently and in small groups to improve their reading levels.
They will work independently, in small groups, and will have listening centers to get the most out of classroom reading. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
