This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love seeing my students grow in their reading journey. Whether they are general education or special education students, each need different things to keep them interested.

Some love audio versions to accompany the text and others like text with colors and pictures.

A speaker would allow audio versions of books to be easily heard. Additionally, a white-board covering would allow me to have another board to support reading comprehension. By providing flexibility and options, I can help them grow their love for reading.

With these items, I will create a warm and inviting environment so that students are comfortable and eager to read.

My goal is to create ease in reading so that students are not intimidated and instead, become secure in their reading abilities and build stamina in reading. Many times I encounter students that are not typically read to at home or that find reading to "not be cool." I want to break that barrier and unleash their reading potential.
