My students need various reading games, various board games, dot painters, markers, stamps, a laminator, laminating sheets, stamps, and stamp pads to learn specific skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work with transitional kindergartners through second grade students. My students are a group of awesome individuals, who try their best in everything they do. They enjoy learning and come to school with a big smile on their face. I enjoy working with my students and helping them the best they can be.
I work with students with autism, specific learning disabilities, and speech/language impairments.
A large percentage of our students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch and are English Language Learners.
My Project
We will use the Pirate Island game to get valuable reading practice as they race around a spooky pirate island! They read short passage and answer questions about details they find there. The Reading Comprehension games library is filled with games to help students develop comprehension skills. Students hunt for treasure as they read for key details, race to finish their paper routes as they explore informational texts. The Hazard Mountain: Inference game is a skill-building reading game, players read short paragraphs and answer follow-up questions by making inferences. The Can Do! games will provide fun, skill-building practice with adjectives, adverbs, plural nouns and more. All of these games and resources will greatly impact my class because my students academic vocabulary will increase. The markers, stamps, and stamp pads will be used to count objects, add, and subtract reward my students for putting forth great effort.
I will use the laminator and laminating pouches to laminate science and math vocabulary words cards.
This will ensure that the cards and worksheets last longer and my students will be able to use them for the entire school year.
