This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to create a special space in our school library for story time, independent reading and community building activities. Our current rug is falling apart and cannot fit the 26+ students that come during a class visit. Unfortunately, our school doesn't have the funding right now to purchase a new one.
We need a comfortable space in the library for students to learn, read and sit during story time.
Please help us make the library a special place for reading and learning! The library is the heart of our small and diverse Title I school. Classrooms visit the library every week, students read in the library during recess and lunch every day, and we hold afterschool programs and clubs in the library.
