This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of unique students who are excited to learn every day! Many of my students are English language learners and have limited exposure to English at home, so as their teacher it is a privilege to enrich their learning as much as possible. Many of my students come from low-income families, therefore the supplies and resources that they have access to are limited.

As a teacher, it is my responsibility to make sure that my students get both a character education plus a rich instructional education. Our school is a place that embraces all students for who they are and tries to give them opportunities that they normally would not have.

My Project

These graphic novels will help my students develop a love for reading. Many of my students do not have access to new books and with these books they will be able to develop a love for reading. As their love for reading grows so will their reading abilities.

Many of my students have not had access to books since the pandemic started and I would love to be able to give them these books.

These books will help them also develop the necessary reading skills that every child should have to succeed in school!
