Help me give my students books to listen to during our remote read-aloud. My students love the Elephant & Piggie series! I can't wait to continue to share those characters with them!

My Students
As Fred Rodgers wrote, "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Students are the future. As teachers, we want to help our diverse learners aspire for greatness by providing them with tools to spark their curiosity, whether it be at home or in the classroom. I teach in Queens, NY where more than half of my students come from low-income households with various learning needs.
Preschool students are curious and learn through play!
When they virtually enter the remote classroom on Google Meet, they greet me with a smile because they are eager and ready to learn. Preschoolers love to dive into hands-on and novel activities. During remote learning, I want my students to receive a successful education. Resources and technology will help my students achieve a meaningful and fun learning experience in these unprecedented times.
My Project
Our remote read-aloud time is a popular time of the day for my students. My students are excited and ready to learn! I chose these specific books based on the curriculum that my students' are learning about. I believe that a literacy-rich classroom, whether virtual or in-person fosters that love of reading that I want to impart to my students.
For example, I am currently teaching the clothing unit, where students will be able to read about how other children dress around the world.
Thus, making my students more culturally aware of the world around them. In preschool, books with visuals help my students at different learning levels engage more with the text. I notice how my students use their cognitive skills to connect the literature to their daily lives in a way that is meaningful and important to their identities.
