My Students
Second grade is a time when students are just beginning to see how the English language works. In order to encourage their love for words and reading, I want to provide fun activities for use during Reading Centers.
Over 28 languages are spoken in our school of just 300 students.
Our students are refugees, immigrants and students from the neighborhood. My class is diverse not only in where they come from and the languages they speak, but in their reading levels, as well. With 95% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch the job of teaching these students to not only read, but to love reading is a very important one.
My Project
These interactive and fun activities on word families, sight words, writing and comprehension will provide my students with much needed practice. Each of these activities provides activities on many different levels, which allows all students to interact with the material in a meaningful way.
