Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The kiddos are amazing kids with great hearts. They work hard, and they are super eager to learn. Unfortunately, they live in the most dangerous neighborhoods in town, but that doesn't stop them from learning.

My sixth graders come from low-income households, but that doesn't define them.

They are first-generation students who mainly speak Spanish. The majority of them live in multi-family homes, sharing rooms with multiple siblings. Most of them have a hard time finding a quiet place to participate in online classes. Regardless of their situation, they believe that education is of great value.

My Project

This project is to help keep our students motivated to do well on their reading assessments. We have been working so hard this year that these gift cards will be rewards for the students that accomplish their goals. The students that reach their rewards first will receive amazon gift cards for reaching their individual reading goal this trimester. The Starbucks cards will be raffled off on Friday for completing their weekly reading goals. This type of motivation goes a long way! Who doesn't love a gift card! We all like to be compensated for the work we put in, and it's no different for our kiddos!
