My Students
Why do people do the things they do? What motivates students who don't like to read to read more? These are the questions I struggle with. I have students working with two different computerized reading programs. I would like to start offering tickets for improvements.
My students are terrific kids who struggle with reading comprehension.
However, with our new computer program, they are improving daily. I want to encourage these kids to work on the program at home and to read during the weekends. I know that students need a break but the articles offered are interesting and educational. I think it is a win-win situation.
My Project
I am requesting pencils, stickers, bookmarks, and other school rewards. I would also like to involve students in some simple art projects as a reward like making bookmarks and small notebooks. Students will learn that reading is a positive thing. Students will improve their skills and start to enjoy reading for pleasure.
This project is important because reading is important.
Reading better will open many doors for these students. Once they begin to read better, they will improve in all their classes and schoolwork. Please help me motivate this great group of learners!
