This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We need teaching resources and books to help enrich and enliven our comprehension and fluency lessons.
My students are a group of fourth graders that attend a Title I school in a Texas school district.
They are made up from a diverse set of backgrounds and include English language learners, special education students and those receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Most importantly my students love coming to school, learning, and being in fourth grade.
My Project
We are requesting teaching resources for reading comprehension and fluency skills. Each of these skills are fundamental in supporting students growth in reading. These resources will provided my students with rich reading lessons in these fundamental areas enticing them to be more engaged and focused in our learning. When students are involved and excited about the material they learn far more.
These teaching resources will strengthen our classroom reading lessons and result in more focused and rich read alouds and fluency practice, skills that are vital to all growing readers.
