This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine having a desire to learn without the resources to do so? Help us get excited about reading! Activities and special tools build excitement about learning.
My second graders come from low income homes.
They come to school eager to learn but often lack the resources at home to support and encourage their drive. Many of my students lack a permanent home and family life is tumultuous at best. These students need a positive influence in their life wherever they can get it. A donation from a complete stranger would truly show them the support and kindness they need.
My Project
My students need reading resources such as games, cards and 30 totes to hold their special books for reading time. Imagine getting to personalize and decorate your own special bag to bring your weekly books to and from school. The kids will love getting to explore reading skills with cards and games. These activities and resources will make reading time more inspiring, fun and engaging for my second graders. They will keep the drive to learn alive when they are at home.
Making reading time fun and enjoyable helps build strong, lifelong readers.
By supporting this project, you will help to bring excitement to my students' reading period, growing their love of reading.
