My Students
Every student deserves to be engaged within a text, and the books listed on this list will do this and more! The texts are written for lower level readers, but with content that is engaging and at level to their interests and concerns of today's society.
Having a range of readers means I need to have a range of texts.
Thus, the need of these texts! By having texts that meet the students' reading level needs, I can help students engage in texts and find a passion for reading that s/he may have never had before!
My Project
The students will use these texts for outside reading requirements, which consist of six books a year. Additionally, the texts will be used for comparing and contrasting writing, along with learning and applying literacy skills that will be taught throughout the year (e.g., characterization, theme, etc.).

I believe that we usually remember the first text that we connected to and why. By having a text that is attainable for the students (meaning it is able to be read at their level on their own) along with texts that are digital it will allow them to be engaged with the text, along with (if needed) the text read allowed to them. By engaging on all levels of learning students will learn to love reading!
