My students need lots of books at their level that they can take home and continue feeling successful as new readers in the first grade.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ibroci's classroom raised $239

My Students
A struggling reader hesitates to pick up a book...then before you know it, they are asking to read specific books.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more things you learn, the more places you'll go!"-Dr. Seuss
My students are first graders learning how to read.
They are in the reading recovery program because they scored at the bottom of their classes. They start off with low confidence and they grow into fluent first grade readers who love to show off their skills.
My Project
My students will have an opportunity to take home books at their reading level so they can continue to practice reading. Right now, I have enough books for daily instruction and 1 take home book. But my students love to take more books and I hate to restrict them. They will love to shop for books to take home and read.
Please help my students read more.
Because when you give a kid a book...they can read more, they like to read more. When they read more their vocabulary grows. When their vocabulary grows, their expressive language increases. When their expressive language increases so does their writing. When kids can read and write, there's nothing they can't do!
