This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is a place where reading is celebrated every day. Whether it's listening to stories during read-aloud time on the carpet, working in small groups, or reading independently, my 2nd grade students are growing into confident, curious readers. I strive to create a literacy-rich environment where every child feels excited and supported in their reading journey.

This project will provide MacBooks that will enhance our reading instruction by giving students access to engaging, research-backed digital reading tools.

These include interactive books, leveled readers, phonics games, and comprehension activities tailored to each student’s individual needs and reading level. With these tools, my students will be able to practice fluency, build vocabulary, and develop deeper comprehension skills—all while having fun and staying engaged.

My students already show a strong love for reading, and with the addition of technology, they will be able to explore texts in new, dynamic ways that support their growth. These MacBooks will open the door to personalized learning opportunities, helping each child become a stronger, more confident reader.
