Help me give my students books to read, books for teachers to read, and supplies to support my students as they publish books for their classmates to read.

My Students

I teach second graders. These second graders are so excited to participate in school when hands-on approaches and technology are involved. They are smart and creative. They are excited to participate in writer's workshop and publish all types of stories and create all types of art. They are excited to learn math skills, spelling, grammar, reading, vocabulary, and physical skills.

Second graders are the perfect age to foster a love of learning that should continue throughout their lives.

Reading is a joy to these students. They love teacher read aloud and look forward to it each day. They love choosing their own books to read and are happy to share stories with me and each other at every opportunity. These readers are amazing, and I am so excited to teach them.

My Project

We need books to fill our shelves. This project will provide reading materials for my amazing second graders. Some of these books are from author Gary Hogg who will soon visit our school and work with our students. My students are so excited to get their hands on some of his books. I can't wait to see them enjoying his stories.

Some of the other titles are amazing books that I have read aloud to my students.

They want their chance to read them independently and share them with their families. This project will give them the opportunity to enjoy other books by the same authors and be introduced to other authors as well.

The additional books for this project are professional development and learning books to help me be a better and more effective reading teacher. The final supplies are to help students publish their own stories for their classmates to read.
