Reading - Priceless!

Help me give my students opportunities to read books in which they see themselves as well as glimpses into the world around them. These class sets will put a book into every hand of my students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a neighborhood where there is crime, violence, drugs, mental illness, trauma, homelessness as well as poverty. Many of our scholars exhibit the symptoms of trauma - indeed many have seen or experienced violence and crime first-hand.

All of my students are awarded free breakfast and lunch and come from low-income and immigrant families.

They work hard eery day and they are excited and eager to learn. We teachers sometimes don't have the supplies that we need to ensure that our scholars are all on a level playing field. Any amount you give towards this purchase will be truly appreciated!

My Project

I am requesting class sets of Stamped, Class Act and two copies of Parker Looks Up. Help me give my students opportunities to read books in which they see themselves as well as glimpses into the world around them. These class sets will put a book into every hand of my students.

These books will also help grow our classroom library with culturally relevant titles that have characters who reflect the make-up of the students in our classroom.

These high-interest books will be used alongside units of study for different genres. Students will use them as a class to expand their knowledge of reading and writing, as well as knowledge of the world around them.
