Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I service the lower grades. This year I am teaching kindergarten and my students come from many different countries including, Africa, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. For many it is their first time in a school and they come eager to learn. We are nestled in the Morisania section of the Bronx.
My Project
These books will provide the opportunity to self-select at their level and interest. My classroom library will be a great place for my students to develop a love of reading as well as independence. Every book that is placed in my library is always treated with love care and respect. Values I try to instill in my students no matter the subject or item. I strongly believe EVERYONE and EVERYTHING in my room deserve love, care, and respect. In a world where technology dominates it is important to foster an equal love for books.
