Reading Our Way

My students need book bins and bean bag seats for a functional and comfortable library where they can sprawl out and enjoy reading an amazing book.

My Students

My students are very unique individuals! The majority of our public school population is made up of Ukrainian students. Our school is one-of-a-kind in the area. However, we also have a diverse population of students who are Latin, Russian, African American, Polish, and Asian.

My students are very artistic in the visual and performing arts as well as strong in academic studies.

My students value education largely due to the fact that our parents are very supportive. The importance of learning is deeply ingrained in our students.

Our school is very small in size so we only offer one grade level per grade. This fact makes us a very tight community. Our students have eager and outgoing personalities, but, somehow ,they all manage to be diverse in their own way.

My Project

Students so often get extremely bored sitting in a stationary chair while reading. My goal is to create a satisfying environment where students want to utilize the classroom library resources. I want to bring reading to life. We utilize so much technology that students don't interact with books the way they should in school.

All in all, nothing in life is better than holding a book in your hands, reading what you absolutely love.

I would love to make this dream come true for my students. I have already filled my library with painted pictures from my students and living plants. I'm just looking to continue to improve the setting for students. We need book bins and bean bag chairs. If students are comfortable in the library, they will become comfortable using the library.
