My Students

I have the privilege of working with the best and brightest students who will one day change the world! At my school, we believe in ensuring high academic and personal success for every student every day. In my classroom, students are exposed to a rigorous curriculum and challenged each day to set, work toward, and achieve goals. My students greet each day with determination and smiles on their faces, and they are eager to grow and improve.

No challenge is too big, and no dream is too small.

The students and families that my school serves come from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many live below the poverty line, with more than 95% qualifying for free and reduced lunch. They face hardships that many people will never experience, yet they show grit and resilience as they continuously push toward creating better futures for themselves. But they also miss out on experiences that help build the background knowledge they need to develop language and vocabulary, comprehend literature, and expand on their learning.

With your help, I can provide my students with exposure to the experiences they need via rich texts and supplemental materials to enrich our curriculum further.

My Project

Reading is a passion for my students and me, and we read a variety of texts covering various topics each week. Still, my students need to be exposed to rich text with vivid imagery to gain knowledge and skills imperative to comprehension.

With these books, my students will build a solid vocabulary to help them understand the topics we will discuss together.

They will read more about waste and recycling, pollution, animal habitats and ecosystems, food chains, and climate change while maintaining the autonomy of choosing books that interest them in reading independently.
