Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My bilingual students are eager to learn every day and excited to work in collaborative groups. They find joy in the little things and appreciate living in a country where children are valued and encouraged.
Not only are they excited to learn from me, their teacher, but they eagerly help one other reach new heights when working with their collaborative groups.
Each day, they do their best to match my high expectations for them. They inspire me with their drive and dedication at such a young age.
My Project
The books that I have chosen for this project were selected to help my dyslexic students to overcome their self-esteem issues. Many of my students are embarrassed that they can't read as well as their peers. Since I know these books were created for my students with dyslexia to provide them with stories of students who are having some of the same struggles that they can identify with. I also made sure that the books I selected are in English and Spanish so that all my student populations are served.
