Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There is so much to gain from reading. As an educator, I advocate for access to diverse texts for my students because there is so much growth and understanding that comes from thinking about and discussing social issues presented through the written word.

This project will help build a classroom library where students can explore their thoughts and feelings about social justice, consider different perspectives, and potentially discover what they are passionate about.

Having these books in our classroom will support a community of learners who, with guidance, will be able to discuss ideas and share insights with one another. Students will gather in reading clubs and follow discussion protocols to engage in thoughtful conversation about the content in these texts.
