This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
First grade is a big year for early readers. This is the time when they begin to use what they've learned in kindergarten to become independent readers. For some students this transition is easy, but for others, not so much, especially for those who have learning disabilities. Offering those students interventions and multiple opportunities to practice reading, is crucial to limit those learning gaps while giving them the confidence to keep reading. The Orton Gillingham dyslexia practice books provide foundational reading skills my students may need. The multiple levels of reading books will give my students a variety of selection for beginning readers to independent readers in our small library. As you can see from my list, the support I want to give my students comes with a hefty price tag. I desperately need your help to make this happen for them. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated!
