My students are come from all different diverse backgrounds and cultures. We speak four different languages, and have many different racial backgrounds. Still, we consist of a loving, safe environment for each of us to grow and learn. At our school, all children receive free breakfast and lunch daily. I am excited for my kindergartners to become a community of learners to grow and wisdom and knowledge.
My focus is for these students to become future leaders in their community.
My Project
These five Kindle Fire tablets and cases will have a huge impact on my students. They will allow them to utilize technology to complete various tasks and assignments. The Kindle Fires will be used in our literacy center rotations as a station in which students can use various apps to practice their reading fluency, phonics skills, letter recognition, number recognition, addition and subtraction facts, and much more! They will also be used to complete various math and reading interventions that are required by our school district.
The Kindle Fires will also allow flexibility in meeting the needs of all my students.
It will allow my gifted students the opportunity to create books and projects that will keep them challenged and motivated to learn. At the same time, it will allow my struggling learners to gain additional practice with skills in a low risk environment. The possibilities are endless for the opportunities this technology will provide!
