This project will help students participate in a Reading Olympics book club. This club will be a place where stories spark imagination, discussions bring ideas to life, and books become more than just pages. In our club, students will read exciting and thought-provoking books, meet regularly to talk about what they’ve read, and take on fun book trials—creative challenges and activities based on the stories.
Reading is one of the most powerful tools for growth.
It strengthens vocabulary, improves focus, builds empathy, and boosts confidence in speaking and writing. Students who read regularly also tend to do better in school—not just in language arts, but across all subjects. My goal with this group is to help students find the enjoy in reading.
In our book club, reading becomes a shared adventure. Students gain:
-Stronger reading and comprehension skills
-A greater appreciation for different perspectives
Nearly all students from low‑income households
