This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been a teacher for 18 years, and never in my whole career have I had 2 classes with such wonderful, kind, polite children who truly enjoy learning. They are a gift to me and I am thankful everyday to have them. I teach two ELL Classes (English Language Learners) and they all come to school motivated and try so hard each day!
My Project
Every Friday, I love to do something called "Flashlight Fridays", where my students get cozy with a book, we turn off the lights, and we read! My students LOVE this activity! It motivates them and inspires them to learn. However, the flashlights I purchased are of poor quality, they do not work well and unfortunately, we have not been able to do this activity. They miss it! I would truly LOVE to be able to give this back to my students to further instill a love of reading within them.
