Help me give my students My students will be able to use a colorful reading chart to identify their reading level and be able to locate books in the library. Books are color coded by reading level.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a new media specialist at a Title 1 school. My project is to create a reading incentive program to promote literacy across all grade levels. Students read books, take quizzes on a reading program called Accelerated Reader. The color printer will allow me to print the charts for each grade level incentives and the points they will need to earn a prize for reading. For example, if a third grader earns 9 points they can receive a red Toucan tag. 18 points orange cheetah tag. Etc. We have a Wild about Reading theme so my reading incentives are animal related. The reading charts will be displayed on the walls and books shelves in the media center and for each teacher to display in their classroom. I will also print colorful positive quotes that promote Reading.
