Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am currently teaching a second grade ESL classroom. My Title I school is located in a large urban area, with all students receiving free lunch and breakfast.
All of my ESL students are learning to read and write the English language, requiring books at and below the second-grade level and they need a way to take these books home so they can read.
Our classroom is a very active place and includes students from many different backgrounds. These students use high-interest books that are on grade level and will inspire them to read. Every student takes a new book home each evening and this requires a durable bag to protect that book and reading log as they travel to and from school. These requested book buddy bags are going to be perfect for my students.
