This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first graders always know how to make me smile. They are hardworking, sweet, and extremely motivated. Our classroom reading nook is not as cozy as it could be. Who doesn't love to read a good book and be comfortable? I believe that if my students have a comfortable place to read with a collection of well-organized, high-interest books to choose from, they'll become more engaged in their reading and be able to think critically about it, too. More importantly, they'll become stronger readers in the process. This project consists of a loft bed that will be a great addition to our reading nook. The top and bottom of the loft will be used for the kids to have a cozy place to read their books. With this project I hope to create a space that the students will be excited to read their books in.
