This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 52 Special Education students want to read Diary of Wimpy Kid and Captain Underpants. I do not have these sets.

Students are in a reading competition.

They read a book and take a test on what the book is about. If the student passes the test they get the word points on how many words were in the book.

If given these sets and other sets of books the students will want to read faster and more often because they have been asking me to buy the sets.

These books are on the level that special education and English language learners that I have are able to read these books I mentioned.

My goal for the students are to read 500,000 words by the end of the school year. Some are about halfway and these books will encourage them to read.
