My Students
My students come into school each morning smiling and eager to learn. I teach at a Title 1 school and our students receive free lunch. We provide book bags and school supplies to students as they come from low income families. Most of the students depend on the meals they receive at school and do not get the help they need from parents with homework.
Teachers at our school spend a lot of money out of their pockets to make sure their students get what they need.
We love to make our classrooms fun and exciting so the students love to come to school.
My Project
Our students lost all of their literacy and manipulatives during a hurricane. By donating to our project, these items will be used in our learning centers while helping students read with confidence and increase their vocabulary.
My students will have a variety of fiction and non fiction books which will help with comprehension and higher order thinking skills.
My students are just now beginning to learn their letters and sounds and these items will help improve their reading skills throughout the school year. Reading is the key to their success and this experience will make a difference in their lives.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
