This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to do an upper grades reading challenge where students are highly encouraged to read more than 25 books in one school year. If we get to 100 we will have a grand prize. In order for students to achieve this big goal, they need to be motivated to fulfill their smaller goals leading up to the big one of the 100 books. All of the items selected I know my students will love and want to have. Student's attitudes towards reading must change and this challenge will help with just that. The challenge will promote reading in and out of the school and I can't wait to see all of these amazing readers achieving their goals!
The items will be given to the students as incentives to read.
These are student-friendly items that they will enjoy and use as a reminder to read each day and reach their big goal for the year.
