Help me give my students engaging literacy activities such as Rhyming Sounds Trains, Letter Word Builders, Light Table Tracing Tiles, alphabet stamps and ink pads to develop critical reading skills.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting fun, hands-on activities that will motivate my students to learn important foundational skills for reading.
My students will use the Rhyming Sounds Trains, Letter Word Builders, and Light Table Tracing Tiles during center time independently and with their peers while they develop the skills they need to be successful readers.
They will self select the items while I'm working with their classmates in small reading groups.
My students come to school everyday eager to learn. They prefer activities that they can manipulate versus pencil/paper tasks to enrich their learning. I want them to be excited about their learning and to make the academic gains necessary to be confident readers.
I've accumulated many resources over the years, but many are looking rather raggedy and showing some wear and tear. These materials will last for many years which will provide dozens of students opportunities to learn!
