My students are (MID) Mildly Intellectually Disabled which means they have an IQ of no higher than 70. These students don’t visit the school library for fear of being bullied or ridiculed because of their low reading levels. This project will consist of low level, high interest books in a cozy, comfortable and private area in the classroom. Reading also helps broaden your horizons and take you to places you have only dreamed of. Reading also helps build friendships through similar likes. Students will also be able to create book clubs and build and bond over books.
