My Project
My special needs students love to read, look at pictures and turn the pages of the books that excite them.
They love graphic novels and enjoy the comics and the pictures.
They get themselves wrapped up in a world of laughter and learn new words without actually knowing they are learning.
The books chosen have various topics across all areas of learning. The students enjoy social emotional books, which help with understanding their feelings. In addition, they are learning how to regulate their emotions using various tactics.
The students will sit in the classroom author's chair and read aloud to their classmates giving them courage to speak and confidence to succeed.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
