Reading is very important. I have quite a few students who are ready for chapter books. They love learning about the world. Students also love a 'magical' element to stories. Students are learning to write stories, both fiction and nonfiction. They love writing too!
My Project
These books will be used as a read-aloud with the entire class. Students will each get a copy of the book and be able to follow along or listen to their peers read. Every day we have a time to read. Students look forward to this. These books are rich in the sight words we are learning and have a good challenge in other vocabulary words. I believe in challenging students as readers. Often students listening ability is greater than their reading ability. These books feed both areas of learning.
