My students come to school because every day is a day to become a better person.
My students are 4, 5 and 6-year-olds who are very eager to learn.
Most of them come from low income families with only one parent who is struggling to hold the family together. They struggle academically, have emotional and social challenges, and many suffer from family issues that are out of their control. They live in a neighborhood where two-thirds of family household income is below the federal poverty threshold and resources are not available for them.
My Project
My students are in Kindergarten where the fun and learning start. But this year is going to be different. I need to find things that my students can do on their own. I need to have enough centers so they can each have one. I am asking for snap and build phonics, sight word sentence building, and the road to reading so my students can learn on their own at their own pace. Each one of my students is unique and different. I want to be able to provide for them and for them to learn but this year this have to do it on their own at their own table because they cant share with their friends. The resources would be used for individual center use. This will help the students to learn otherwise they would not be able to do centers.
