Kindergarten is where reading begins. The love of reading begins in preschool and kindergarten. We say "learn to read by second grade and read to learn from third grade on". Foundational skill must be set in kindergarten. Developing the good habits and the skill to read is my main goal in kindergarten.
Reading "FUN"damentals addresses the importance of reading and setting a solid foundation for reading success.
The supplies purchased with this project will support the development of phonemic awareness and phonics. Games, writing boards, foam sensory paint, photo cards will provide opportunities to practice phonic skills.
Mesh bags, plastic containers, and photo sleeves help to organize reading materials. The ability to arrange things will help in making the most of time spent in small and large group instruction. I look forward to all the excitement these materials will generate with my students.
