I am a first year Kindergarten teacher this school year, I have not yet met my students. However I am very excited to work with this age group, they are always so excited and eager to learn. From my past experience in education, I have noticed the lack of diversity in reading materials. I believe it is very important to expose all children to a variety of cultures, ethnicities and traditions. There is a specific computer program for the children I’d like to expose the to call Imagine Learning. Our desk top computers are very out dated, and limited.
My Project
Reading should always be fun and engaging, why not make it comfortable?!?!? With today’s technology we can increase students desire to read! Today’s generation loves technology, so why not take advantage of the excellent reading programs available to young readers!! Programs like Epic, Reading A-Z, Raz Kids and Imagine learners are just a few of those creative ways to learn! I believe some children are only exposed to “gaming “ or You Tube through their personal tablets or desk tops at home, at school we can introduce them to a whole new world of reading and math and science “gaming” and they will never know they are LEARNING!! Shhhh .. I won’t tell them if you won’t!
