Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a K-3 special education teacher I am constantly working with different aged students who are on varying levels academically and behaviorally. I go from classroom to classroom throughout the day as well as pull students into my office for more individualized instruction.
Our Charter School has a loving, safe environment that allows kids to be kids.
We are constantly upping the rigor of our lessons and challenging students to be their best. The students who I specifically work with often struggle and may need more motivation and resources to be their best. Providing them with various resources to use as they learn increases their success. Making them most comfortable increases it even more. My students are vibrant, eager, interested students who constantly question and wonder.
My Project
I have always believed in allowing students to sit, stand or lay as they would like, in a safe way, to help their body get most comfortable and allow their brain to be most ready. Having a wobble seat, a folding seat and two Go Anywhere floor seats will give my students another opportunity to be comfortable while reading stories that may be challenging.
I want instill a love for reading in my students.
I want my students to want to come to my office to read. Sitting at a table or desk like they do all day will not enhance their love for reading. Please help me get these resources to enhance my student's love for reading and make it more fun...and cozy!
