This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember reading a book that made you laugh until your face hurt? I got that feeling from reading Judy Blume books. My students have that feeling when they read Mo Willems books.

My students attend a school where 80% of the students receive free/reduced lunch.

They love reading time! They love reading and talking about their books. During read aloud time, they frequently request books by Mo Willems. The pigeon books are very popular with the boys!

My Project

The Mo Willems books I am requesting will be used as read aloud books and will be placed in our classroom library. I have 3 paperback pigeon books that are ready to be put to rest and yet my students still fight for them! The multiple titles will allow several students to have access to the books at the same time.

My goal is that every student leaves my classroom with a passion for reading.

Pigeon, Piggie, and Elephant, will definitely help me accomplish it. I know that the books I am requesting will be read and reread by all of my students everyday!
