I am thankful every day for the privilege to teach such a diverse group of learners. We come together on a daily basis, learning from one another.
We are a public community school, where parents who once attended are now bringing their own children.
Our students grow up in a unique walking/biking community made up of seven hundred students grades three to five. I have personally had the privilege of teaching numerous siblings and have come to know many families in this tightknit community. This is a wonderful group of learners who are future leaders.
Continual encouragement is imperative, so they can become the best learners they can be. With various backgrounds, they all encompass the need to grow and learn so they can become a competitive, functioning citizen.
My Project
Reading is the top priority in our classroom. By this age, all students should be reading to learn, not learning to read. However, we are finding more and more children who need encouragement and assistance in reading.
Every child feels success when he/she can read!
Providing them a variety is key. When a child finds that "just right" book, things begin clicking. I know with this project, more children will be reached.
When a child falls in love with reading, often it can be a springboard for learning in all areas. Thank you for your consideration in donating to our classroom!
